In blender I just mark edges with the edge angle detection algorithm and go from there, and it works great. I find those really fucking annoying since I have to keep adjusting the tool parameters which is my biggest gripe with maya overall. A lot of maya ppl use those cylinder and cube projections etc. Super Smart Create QBlocker Integration: Use QBlocker for primitive creation, needs QBlocker to be used. I'm having to learn maya at the moment and I find the unwrapping quite clunky I just want to mark edges and unwrap that since that's how I learned it. Super Smart Create Switch Modes: Enables Switching to optimal selection mode after certain operations in Super Smart Create. What does maya's uving system have that blender does not for instance. Although i learned unwrapping in blender so bare that in mind. I don't get the hate on blenders uv editing either. With the QBlocker addon by Balzs Szeleczki you can draw. Ive tested most of these blender addons to make sure they still work in. Node types used on that tree, left to right, repeats not mentioned: Addons for Blender 2.80 is a site provides a list of free and paid addons for Blender 2.80 and later. Press Tab to go in and out of editing that group, and connect sockets to the start and end nodes to create group inputs / outputs. Its still constrained to Blenders operators which means you cant move, scale or rotate the tree until after youve finished editing all the parameters (kind of annoying). Select one or more nodes and press Ctrl + G to create a Group Node with them inside. This works much like the Sapling Addon that comes with Blender, however, it has more improved features and a simplified interface for easier growing of trees. Shift + Right-click + drag on a noodle (the gray lines connecting nodes) to create a Reroute Node, a little dot node that lets you organize the lines so they don't look like spaghetti. Shift + A to get the menu with all the node types to add. Once enabled, the tools can be found in the Interactive Tools. Now search for the Interactive Tools add-on in the list, and enable it using the checkbox. In the browser window that appears, select the location of the addon and click Install. You said you're not that familiar with the node editor, so it would be a great way to learn if you tried to recreate that node tree by following the images. In Blender's top menu, go to Edit -> Preferences, choose the Add-ons section in the Preferences panel. ![]()
